Week of August 23 through August 27
6th Grade
Sixth graders will be working on learning my class routine and filling out some paperwork. By the end of the class Tuesday or start of Wednesday I will introducing a unit on story mapping. Students will be learning the 5 major parts of a story. We will be using this information the rest of the school year while we are reading stories. The students will be making an actual story map to use as a study guide for this unit.
7th Grade
7th graders will be working on learning my class routine and filling out some paperwork. We will be doing a very quick review of the story mapping unit I taught last year to them. When we have finished this review we will be using the 7th grade reading textbook to start a unit on recognizing different types of prose and analyzing visual material.
The Middle School will be on heat schedule until Monday, September 6. At that time we will return to our regular schedule.
